Obituary
Carl H. Olsen of Wheatfield, NY formerly of Mahopac died on October 3, 2013 at the Buffalo General Hospital. He was 76. Mr. Olsen worked for General Motors, N. Tarrytown for over 30 years before retirement. Carl was born on September 6, 1937 in Dobbs Ferry to Herbert C. and May M. Schultz Olsen. He was a 1955 graduate of N. Tarrytown High School and a graduate of Kings College, Briarcliff Manor. He served in the US Army. Carl is survived by his wife Lynn, 3 daughters Carolyn Olsen, Debora Olsen and Amy (Leonard) Roman, 2 grandsons Jesse and Jake Roman and one sister Margaret Olsen. Calling hours at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532 on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor on Wednesday at 10am. Carl H. Olsen, age 76, of Wheatfield, formerly of Briarcliff Manor, New York, died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Dobbs Ferry, New York, he was the son of the late Herbert and May (nee Schultz) Olsen and was an Army Veteran. A resident of Wheatfield for the past 14 years, Mr. Olsen was employed as a supervisor at the General Motors Plant in North Tarrytown, NY until retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn (nee Vanderheite) Olsen; three daughters, Carolyn Olsen of Salt Point, New York, Debora Olsen of Yorktown Heights, New York, and Amy (Leonard) Roman of La Grangeville, New York; two grandchildren, Jesse and Jake Roman; and his sister, Margaret Olsen of Briarcliff Manor, New York.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Theresa R.C. Church, 1394 Pleasantville Road in Briarcliff Manor. Friends invited. Interment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, New York.
